{babies don't keep}

tThe cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
for children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

Have you ever had a moment with your children that you wish you could capture forever?
I had one of them yesterday.
Jacob was so excited to look out the window and touch the window sill. He reminded me of a puppy dog. His little legs wouldn't stop bouncing up an down. It was so cute.
His simplicity refreshes me every day.

I tried to capture the moment one-handedly from my phone but it fails to do it justice.

I sat with him holding him up so he could touch and see out the window for longer than I usually would. No, I didn't finish my work, do any laundry whatsoever, or complete my food shopping list, but I enjoyed the moment with him and it was worth every second that I will spend catching up today.

Sometimes it is so easy to prop him up and let him play alone as I scurry around the house or work on my computer but it was moments like yesterday that hold me back when I am tempted to do that.

Happy Tuesday!

At the risk of never washing a single item of clothing again,
I'm planning on framing it and hanging it by my washing machine.
