I can't believe our little guy is one.
A whole year.
We still can't get over it.
The weekend before his birthday we celebrated his big 1
at a local playground with tons of family and friends
with a little monsters themed birthday party.
It was a great afternoon for the Snake.
I've never seen him happier!
Thank God I had the help of my cousin who was visiting from Costa Rica the week before,
There were so many little details that wouldn't have gotten done without her.
Like the monster mouth props inspired by Fancy Frills.
I have to admit. I went a little nuts with the desserts.
We had cake, cupcakes, chocolate dipped marshmallows,
chocolate chip cookies,brownies, and candy.
My mom decorated the awesome mnoster cake inspired by Bakerella.
The eyeballs are made out of cookie dough, eggless of course,
dipped in white chocolate, with chocolate chip eyes.
I use the recipe for the pops is from Baked Perfection.
The party hats were another time consuming but totally worth it DIY.
I fell in love with them when I saw them on Oh Happy day
and waited forever to have an excuse to make them.
You can find the tutorial and template here.
I love how plain and fun they are.
We had other food, of course...
The Snake's birthday onesie was made by his aunt.
How cute is the chevron pattern on the one?!
Not to mention the little monster...
Someone really loved his birthday gift....
it was a hit with all the kids!
Can you tell this kid is having a blast?
As well he should... after all he's a big boy now!
